At the age of 21, I left the only home I had ever known in New York to pursue a career that was known to have a rather high rate of failure due to the rigorous training it requires.
I decided it was time for me to step out of my comfort zone and make my mark in this world. There were various points in which I thought I couldn't make it and would end up coming back home as a failure. Luckily, I was able to persevere and progress through to the end of my training. Now I'm regarded as one of the best to do what I do and mentor younger individuals looking to make it in my profession in the United States Air Force.
When things were at their bleakest, I refused to give up on my goal as well myself...
This, was my Rookie Season.
